Back from hiatus...

Hello fellow Cognos Now! enthusiasts. Sorry for the long delay in posting, work has been crazy. Been busy with some interesting stuff, specifically merging data from Salesforce and Oracle ERP systems - not easy (watch for an upcoming blog on this).

Also, next week is Cognos Forum at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando! I'll be attending, most likely hanging around the Cognos Now booth, and joining as many workshops as possible. Stay tuned for pics and info from this fun event.

Happy Friday!

  1. Hello guys,
I have been asked to do some investigation about Cognos Now and how to use it.
I started reading the internet for it and I also have the installation and Configuration document for it. However, I find it very hard to understand and do!!
What I understod until now is that Cognos Now is a set of Java libraries to be deployed on an application server. Currently, I have IBM Websphere Application Server V6.0 installed and also I have MS SQL Server 2005 as database server. Also, I have IIS as a webserver.
It is mentioned in the document that static components of the web server should be added to the web server and the dynamic components (Lava.EAR) should be deployed on the Application Server. I don't understand and I actually could not do it until now which is to connect them together.
If any one please could help me in this issue, I would be very grateful.
I need some clarification and some real explaination on how to install and get Cognos Now working successfully.
